Each year, millions of Americans are diagnosed, and begin their battle with, cancer. When a cancer patient is told there is no hope, Lazarex Cancer Foundation steps in. Team for Life is a unique fundraising program that gives you the chance to directly support Lazarex Cancer Foundation and the cancer patients we serve when you participate in any endurance event where we have an official team orwhen you get creative and design your own event! Need ideas? We can help you with that! Have a great idea? We’ll help you get started! We’ve supported fundraisers doing everything from Iron Man to Knit-a-thons to Festivals. We are deeply grateful to all of our Team for Life members for their efforts and passion that give the gifts of Hope, Dignity and Life to late stage cancer patients and their families.
Meet Team Honey Badgers who’ve raised $11,600 to date in the 2012 Tinker Bell ½ Marathon and Carol & Ron Zenaro who have raised $30,000 with the beautiful bracelets they create! Check back often as we will be updating the Team for Life members that we feature.
Team Honey Badgers
They are rowdy, irreverent, passionate, gutsy and determined! Formed by Team Leader Linda Quintero (who has supported Lazarex as a Team for Life member through 3, soon to be 4, half marathons) the Honey Badgers trained hard, played often, and raised $11,600 in 4 months through letter and email appeals, iPad raffle, yard sale, football pool and more.

Carol & Ron Zenaro: The Bracelet Story
Ron and Carol became part of the Lazarex family when their son Scott, who was being treated for cancer, was accepted into a clinical trial in Santa Monica, CA. Scott applied for help with travel and lodging expenses through Lazarex Cancer Foundation and was treated through clinical trials as a Lazarex client just shy of two years. That gave us plenty of time to get to know and love, Scott, Carol and Ron. Sadly Scott passed away in February 2010 but our friendship with Carol and Ron continues to grow. They channel their love, grief and gratitude into a creative outlet by crafting beautiful, handmade bracelets that they sell, donating the money to Lazarex. Ron buys the materials and Carol makes the bracelets. To date they have raised close to $30,000 in honor of Scott.
