Big Sur Half MarathonBig Sur Half Marathon Course Description:

This Big Sur Half Marathon is a run and/or walk along the "Edge of the Western World," offering a gently rolling fast course that winds through historic downtown Monterey, along Cannery Row, and proceeds along Pacific Grove's coastline with incredible views of the Monterey Bay.

Packet Pick Up Directions
Bibs, D-tags, and event shirts must be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo (See below). A Photo ID is required for packet pickup. If you are unable to pick up your packet, you may give a letter of authorization to someone else along with a photocopy of your driver’s license or other picture ID and they may pick up for you.

There is race morning pick up between 5:30 and 6:45 AM to accommodate those who absolutely cannot pick up the day before. A packet pick-up tent will be located on Del Monte Avenue in front of the Del Mar French Laundry near the start.  Please know your bib number in advance. 

Health & Fitness Expo

When: Friday, November 16th Noon - 6pm
Saturday, November 17th 9am - 6pm

Where: Monterey Conference Center- 1 Portola Plaza in Monterey (adjacent to the Portola Hotel & Spa)

Participant Requirements:

- No pets, wheels, pacers, or baby joggers on the course.
- You must be able to complete the course in 3 1/2 hours
- You must be at least 12 years of age or older to participate
- You must be in good health/physically prepared to take on the challenges of a ½ marathon
- Race numbers are required to take part in the race.

Team for Life Membership Fee:

$115 for Team for Life membership (will be credited to your fundraising page as your 1st donation)

Fundraising Minimum:

Each Team for Life Member participating in the Big Sur Half Marathon is responsible for raising a minimum of $900 by Friday, November 2, 2012 at 5pm PST (not including your TFL membership fee/1st donation) In exchange for raising the $900 minimum, each participant will be race registered and receive a Team for Life race day t-shirt, as well as the following:
- A unique technical fabric t-shirt in gender specific sizing. 
- A ceramic finisher's medallion by artist Kathleen Kelly
- D-tag timing by Race Central
- Food and drink at the finish
- Fluids, fuel and sanitary facilities on the course
- Live music and entertainment on the course

Fundraising Program:

When you race as a Team for Life member you raise funds to help end stage cancer patients get a second chance at life through clinical trials. 87% of donations go directly to our program services. We reimburse patients directly for expenses incurred with participating in a clinical trial. Team for Life offers great incentives, provides simple fundraising tools (including a personalized website like this one: lazarex.kintera.org) and your own fundraising mentor to assure your success.

Fundraising Policy:

If the $900 fundraising minimum is not met by 5pm PST on Friday, November 2, 2012 your credit card on file will be charged to make up the difference (to total $900).

These charges are refundable if you continue to fundraise and reach the $900 minimum (not including your TFL membership fee/1st donation) by Friday, December 14, 2012 by 5pm PST. Once you have fulfilled your fundraising requirement, Lazarex will issue a refund for the amount charged to your credit card.

$1200-$2499: Team for Life Sport Bag
$2500 - $3999: Malibu Team for Life Unisex Sport Watch w/ a Turquoise rubber band
$4000-$5499: Team for Life Hydration Back Pack
$5500 - $9999: 18 speed, Team for Life Mountain Bike, steel frame, alloy rims, twist shift, 3 piece crank
$10,000 and above: ONE WEEK LODGING AT AN EXCLUSIVE HAWAIIAN RESORT IN MAUI (airfare not included)
